Situation today

Bangalore is India’s Silicon city and soon-to-be Quantum city. It’s a dream for so many engineering students across the country.
But there are challenges too. While traffic is often spoken about and criticized by everyone involved, the stress that professionals go through and the mental health challenges residents faced does not get the necessary attention it should!

Potential causes

To retain their leadership position, corporates push their teams to achieve unrealistic targets. 9 hours a day is the new norm but one would be happy to work for just that many hours. Work extends beyond office hours and after going home, the office calls extend so much that there are action items to be dealt with, before one goes to bed. Yes, the salary packages are great but so is inflation (easily the highest in the country). Productivity increases are expected at work, with no proper mentoring on the job. With no time to spare, teams do not have the luxury to read about the best practices prevalent globally.
